Our Fire Extinguisher Awareness Training Course is our most popular training course and is aimed at all employees.

The course content includes;

• Basic chemistry of fire
• Classifications of fire
• Current Fire Safety Legislation
• Correct use of fire extinguishers
• What to do if you discover a fire
• Practical application of different types of fire extinguisher

All Fire Extinguisher training courses include a classroom based lecture using the most up-to-date technology and are led by a Senior Fire Protection Consultant, this is followed by a practical, hands-on, 'live fire' training session* where employees have the opportunity to put theory into practice in a safe and controlled environment.

Courses are designed for a maximum of 15 delegates.

All 'live fire' training courses are lead by experienced and well trained fire fighters who use specially designed fire simulation equipment, which include simulations of a waste paper bin fire, flammable liquid spill and model VDU screen fires which replicate the behaviour of different types of fire. The training equipment is gas powered and remains under full control of the operator whilst in use, providing a much safer environment than the basic tray and petrol kit (still commonly used by many training companies) and achieving the drama and experience of real flames and fire behaviour.

*Whilst we make every effort to provide ‘live’ fire training sessions for all Extinguisher Awareness courses they can only be carried out in a safe area, this could be an outdoor car park area, courtyard or similar. Should our Consultant feel that the area is not suitable for ‘live fire’ then unfortunately we cannot carry out this element of the course.
As an alternative, delegates will be invited to handle the extinguishers and simulate their use without the discharging of the unit.
