Overview

In 2013 were invited to tender for the fire extinguisher maintenance contract at a large NHS Trust Hospital in South East England.

They were searching for a new provider after they had seen their costs consistently increasing with their current vendor.  They had no definitive record of how many units were on site, nor when the extended servicing on these units was due, this made budgeting for future financial years impossible.  They were regularly faced with an annual invoice for substantially more than the quoted costs and had no data available to challenge this.

It was also important to them that they found a company who could work within the strict protocols required in a hospital environment.

Our Solution

The challenge for this project was initially to locate all of their current extinguisher units and create a comprehensive asset list which was then added to their site drawings.

Following the initial annual maintenance visit, a detailed report of the extended servicing dates for the next 5 years was created giving the client all the essential information they needed to forecast their budgets for future years.

We worked closely with the client to schedule maintenance visits at a time to best accommodate their day to day operations.  We adjusted working hours for when access into controlled areas such as operating theatres and maternity wards was most convenient.  All our technicians have enhanced DBS checks and the same team of technicians would work on this project each year ensuring continuity and also familiarisation with the client and their expectations.

We are pleased to confirm that our rolling annual contract, which started in 2013, has once again been renewed with this client for the coming year.
